One of Deb's hobbies

Everyone knows me as being a crafty person. I just like to do things with my hands. I started painting in 1981 a month or so after Amanda was born.

I went to Florida in 2001 (I think), to be trained to paint murals on walls. Man what fun that was. I have since graduated from painting everything (including the toilet lid in our old house) to flame work.

I have always loved glass sculptures and have watched the glass workers every chance I got. I really believe that is when I started learning how to sculpt glass. Allen built my glass shop in 2006. I have been asked to place a few pieced in a gallery in Park City, UT. I still work with my glass and it will always be something I can never get enough of.

I have a new love now. Engraving! I purchased my first Paragraver in November 2008. And promptly started engraving slate to make tissue boxes for xmas. Didn't get them all done. Here are a few pictures of my studio and some of the glass I have done. Enjoy!

Lexco Construction Corp

Allen and I decided early in January 2003 to open our own business. We named it Lexco Construction Corporation. We officially opened our doors on April 17, 2003. Allen bought a CAT 330BL track hoe. Our first job was for John Jones. The next was for Dry Gulch Irrigation Company. The first couple of years wasn't so pretty. We scraped by some months. Since that first year we purchased a 580 CASE backhoe, a semi truck with a lowboy trailer, three pickups, a belly dump trailer, a 25 ft goose neck trailer, welder, pressure washer, another trailer, 140 G CAT Motor grader all with in the last 4 years. This year we traded our track hoe for a new one. CAT 330 D at the first of the year.

This last winter we had record snow fall. Allen was working non-stop trying to keep up with the demand. In January Kody came to work for us. What a blessing he has turned out to be. We purchased another 163H CAT Motor grader. Both Kody and Allen plowed snow for the oil companies. In July we hired another operator/truck driver and a laborer.

Our business is doing very well. We are in hopes of purchasing more equipment soon. I guess time will tell.

Ashley

Ashley decided to move out of our house in 2006. She moved to Lindon, UT. To a group home. She lived there for 18 months. Then a much better facility called and said they had room for her in their place. We moved her there in January 2008. WOW what a place. She is so much happier there. Ashley has really grown over the last two years. She loves to go shopping, swimming, to the library, and to dances. She also goes to mutual with the rest of the residents in her home. There are 15 residents living at Lehi. Ashley comes home usually twice a month for a visit, but she don't stay long. She is ready and wanting to go back home within just a few days.

Shelly & Jeremy

Shelly and her signifacant other, Jeremy, have been together for 5 years now. They started their lives together in Roosevelt, while Shelly was working at McDonald's. Jeremy was working for Checker at the time. He changed jobs and started working for Wal Mart. Lasted for about 1 year. He was going to be a manager. Then Utah Motor asked him to come be the parts supervisor. Jeremy jumped at that chance. They moved to Vernal in 2003. Jeremy has three great kids. Colvin 14, Breeanna 11, and Emry 9, (they are this old now). Shelly worked for McDonald's for 4 years. She transfered to the Vernal store when Jeremy was working at Wal Mart. She lasted about 6 months there. Then she quit and went to Wal Mart too. Stayed for about a year. Then she applied for a job at UBET and was accepted. She has been with them for almost three years now. She works as a Cellular sales tech. She still has her favorate boy, Chip. They just got another dog Domino a girl friend for Chip.

Amanda & Ryan

Amanda married Ryan in 2000. They moved a small single wide trailer on to our property in Boneta, Ut. They lived there for about two years. Dustin (Dusty) was born in Dec 2001. Our first grandbump! They bought Ryan's mother and dad's house in Neola, Ut. and have beent here ever since. They had Wyatt in 2003 and Regan in 2005. Ryan and Amanda both love to team pen during the summer. They camp and play with the kids. Ryan is starting his own business. Water hauling. I wish him all the luck in the world. I hope he finds it a good decision.

Kody's family

Kody married Shailynn in 2001. They lived in Roosevelt for about two years. They had Dalton in August of 2002. What a wonderful bundle of joy. Then moved to Indepencence for about a year. Alexis was born while they lived in Independence, UT. They moved up to our old place in Boneta, UT for about 3 months. Shai got hay fever really bad so they had to move again. Back to roosevelt the went. They are expecting their third child in December 2008. Kody came to work for us in January 2008. We are so grateful he did. The business has really started to take off. And we know with Kody's help the sky's the limit. Shai is a wonderful mama. I couldn't ask for a better daughter-in-law. I love the grandbumps very much. We both look forward to seeing them when ever we can.

Our History

Allen and I have been married 28 years now. We started our lives together living in Coalville, UT. That lasted 3.5 months. Our next home was in Altamont, UT. We bought a single wide trailer and parked it in the trailer park. We lived there for about a year and a half. While we lived in Altamont, we had two beautiful babies. Kody our oldest came into our lives in October of 1980. Amanda came a year and a day later. Then both Allen's dad and mine took pitty on us and moved us to Boneta, Ut. We began purchasing a piece of ground that was originally owned by Mom and Dad Lindsay. Our third child was born while we lived here in 1984 Shelly. We lived here until May 1985. We acutally moved on my birthday. What a birthday present. Finally we had to room to move and grow. And we did grow, we had our last child Ashley in 1987. We have lived here in this house for 23 years. Now in 2008 we are moving back over to Boneta. EnaRa has been so wonderful to us. I am very excited to have her for my neighbor again as well as the wonderful mother-in-law she has always been. It is ironic we are moving back over there on Allen's birthday.
